COMPANY DESCRIPTION
PT Timah Tbk is an Indonesia-based mining company. The Company and its subsidiaries, the Group, are engaged in the business of mining, industry, trading, transportation and related services. The Company's principal activity is to act as an investment holding company and to provide marketing services to the Group. It has 521,065 hectares of tin mining rights represented by 113 mining concessions. Tin metal, including its by-products, is sold to domestic and foreign markets through the Company's overseas subsidiaries. In addition, the Company is involved in coal mining, asphalt and nickel exploration activities. The Company is headquartered in Pangkalpinang, Indonesia.
TINS: Divesifikasi Tambang
Selain timah, TINS mendiversifikasi usaha pertambangan lainnya yakni batubara dan aspal dengan cara: batubara, tanamkan modal pada PT Tanjung Alam Jaya, Kalsel yang memproduksi 1,7 juta ton/tahun atau melalui akuisisi dan sebagai trader. Sedangkan untuk tambang aspal investasi di P.Buton, Sulawesi Tenggara dan akan membangun pabrik aspal ekstrasi berkapasitas 120 ribu ton/tahun.

TINS: Target Penjualan FY 08 Rp. 8,9 Triliun
Target penjualan TINS FY 08 diperkirakan Rp. 8,9 triliun atau naik 4,19 % YoY dari Rp. 8,54 triliun, dengan target volume penjualan FY 08 sebanyak 59 ribu ton atau naik tipis 0,12 % YoY 58.927, seiring tambahan penjualan dari pabrik timah solder dan pabrik kimia.

TINS: Naikkan Produksi Timah Laut
Perseroan targetkan perimbangan produksi bijih timah dari laut dari 20 % menjadi 50 % dari total produksi pada FY 09. sementara itu, volume produksi FY 08 ditargetkan mencapai 60.000 ton. Untuk mencapai target tersebut, perseroan telah tambah armada kapal keruk dari 14 menjadi 25 armada.
